Innovation Interviews: On building a culture of humility

The term “humility” is often misunderstood to be a lack of leadership. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth. It’s an essential quilty for building resilience—both in organizations and individuals.

I recently spoke with Jeff Gothelf, author of Lean UX and Sense & Respond, about his newest book, Forever Employable. Jeff’s book answers the question that many have asked him over the years: how do you build a career safety net out of your experience and expertise? How can building a reputation and audience generate opportunities for you, as opposed to chasing them?

We also discussed what made certain organizations thrive during the pandemic: building organizational agility in their ways of working, the ability to adjust how they were delivering products to market, and the speed at which they were delivering those products.
